Mount Sinai, also known as Moses Mountain, is one of the most famous mountains in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. According to the Bible, this is where God appeared to Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments.
At the summit, you’ll find the remains of the Holy Trinity Chapel, first established in 363 AD and completed in 530 AD during Emperor Justinian’s reign. In 1934, stones from the ancient chapel were used to build a small mosque above the cave where Moses is said to have spent 40 days.
As night turns to dawn, you’ll witness the breathtaking sight of the surrounding cliffs and valleys as the first rays of sunlight hit the peaks. To the north lies the Prophet Elijah’s temple with a well, and a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, attracting Orthodox pilgrims. The base of the mountain is home to the Saint Catherine’s Monastery.
This tour offers a rich historical experience, allowing you to learn fascinating stories about Moses’s life and many interesting facts from the Bible.
